10 Rules To Being A Badass

Being a badass is all about your attitude and the way you carry yourself throughout the day. It’s the way you perceive yourself. Your mentality.
And, most importantly, if you are able to Execute.
You follow a code that most people don’t even fathom.
This is the Lean Warrior Philosophy.
Apply these rules to your daily living and you will unleash the Warrior within.
1. Find Comfort In Discomfort
When your life becomes more and more comfortable, you’re bound to fall into mediocrity. You’ll find yourself feeling lazier and lazier.
Let this be a sign that you’re sitting in your comfort zone.
The key to being a badass is the ability to push yourself outside of your comfort zone. Doing so separates you from everybody else and unleashes your potential.
You’ll never know what greatness you’re capable of until you find joy in discomfort.
2. Be Ready to Fail Over and Over Again
One of my favorite memories was when I was in Manila with some friends. We were at a lounge that was playing a Michael Jordan documentary on the TV for some reason.
This was when I came across one of my favorite quotes of all time by the GOAT:
This is the attitude that separates those who succeed in life from those who do not. Failing isn’t a comfortable feeling. But, this is how you build yourself into a living, breathing badass.
It’s okay if you’re afraid to fail. Just don’t let them fear keep you from taking action. That is the key. Which leads us into the next rule…
3. Never Wait For The Perfect Moment
You’ll always experience feelings of doubt and uncertainty. Your mind will always find excuses to quit. Battling through resistance makes you a complete badass. There will never be a perfect product, a perfect business, a perfect idea, a perfect amount of time, and so on.
All you have is the moment right now to do what you got to do. Stop over-analyzing and Just Do It.
Fight through resistance. It will never go away. Understanding this and pushing through is what separates you from mediocrity.
4. The Power of Saying “No”
A true badass knows that value of being able to say NO to other people.
The more you say “yes” to others, the more you give up time for yourself.\
You’ll find yourself committing to things that don’t improve your life.
You’ll put things off since you’re so worried about making others happy.
It’s incredibly easy to lose focus on your own mission in life when you’re running around trying to please others — all because you struggle to say one word: No.
It’s okay to tell people that you’re busy. You should want to be busy doing your own thing.
And, other’s will respect that.
You can’t be a badass when you’re at the beck & call of others. Learn the power of saying NO, and proudly say it often.
5. Stay In Your Own Lane
A real badass doesn’t get involved in the drama of others. You’re a drama-free zone with no time for bullshit.
You don’t get involved in the personal problems and concerns of others. You realize that time is your most precious commodity. Therefore, you don’t have time to argue.
People are going to do what they want to do. Don’t let that be of concern to you. Mind your own business and stay in your lane. Learn to focus and get busy.
There are things you can get done in a day that would take others a week. Focus on your mission, keep your head down and hustle.
Don’t let anybody else pull you from your path, no matter how tempting it may be.
6. Eliminate People Who Don’t Enhance Your Life
If you’re in a relationship with someone who is pulling you down? It’s time to start rethinking your relationship.
Got a family member who doesn’t support the mission you’re on? Severely limit your contact with said person. It’s harsh, but being a badass isn’t a walk in the park. If it was, everybody would be one.
The truth is that most people won’t want to see you succeed. Your success brings out their insecurities and makes them feel weak.
Therefore, they try to bring you down to their level. They’ll bring drama into your life, start arguments, criticize you and so on. So, it’s important to limit your contact with these people.
Keep a close circle of like-minded individuals. It can get lonely on this journey because you’ve chosen the hard path. But, that’s the path of a badass.
7. Accept Yourself But Never Settle
Therefore, you must learn to accept yourself the way you currently are. Only then can you work on being the best version of yourself.
No matter what you may believe, there’s always a way to better yourself. The badass knows this. You approach life with an attitude that takes on obstacles.
Every day is a new day. Go big or go home. Hit the ground running and push yourself. You’ll be surprised at how much you’ve grown over a short amount of time.
This is the reality of a badass. They’re always moving forward and testing their limits. Which leads us to the ever important rule to…
8. Evolve and Adapt
Therefore, a badass is always on top of his game. You must be willing to adapt to change. There are always new opportunities for you to capitalize on.
A true badass has an eye for these things. Know when to be patient and when to jump at the opportunity that presents itself.
Both are life skills that the badass is aware of. You can’t force things to happen. But, when the windows open, you know how to act. This is what separates the badass from everybody else.
We all have opportunities. The badass knows how to capitalize.
9. Take Action But Be Outcome Independent
One if the best quotes for this comes from the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High:
“The attitude dictates that you don’t care whether she comes, stays, lays, or prays. I mean whatever happens, your toes are still tappin’. Now when you got that, then you have the attitude.”
This quote applies to everything in life, not just personal relationships. A badass doesn’t let circumstances in life knock you off your mission.
No matter what happens, your toes are still tappin.’ You’re still in your lane doing what you do. This attitude will carry you to the top levels of badass.
People will sense that you have this attitude before you even open your mouth. It’s that powerful.
Until you’re consistently living your life this way, you’ll struggle to be a true badass. You’ll be at the beck & call of others. That’s no way to live.
10. Train Hard. And Eat Well.
Get your ass in the gym, train smart, and eat well. Don’t worry about looking pretty in the weight room. A badass doesn’t need the latest tech pants to lift heavy and finish strong.
Train with passion and give it everything you got. Don’t half ass your workouts. Focus on progressive overload. That is how you build a badass physique.
